256 + 512

= 768MB of RAM!

Just got myself 512 MB of RAM for my PC, and it’s not that it goes without any hiccups. But I have to ask the motherboard to “tolerate” with them (as in, enabling the RAM tolerance option :p) and it just works fine :).

I’m not sure how far the speed performance will go, I didn’t expect much apart from the times when my machine is on heavy load. But it’s nice to have that upgraded :). (which I believe that that’s what I would need for my existing compy at the moment)

At least I can have some extra fun with things that are memory hogs :p.

[P/S: Hope no one noticed that I made a math blunder :p]

Some Changes In Work

Seh Hui Leong

Life

Some work related updates: Someone new came into the office today, which, in a way, have the looks like Daniel (Malaysian Idol 2 winner). And he better don’t know that I’m the one marking his paper during the competition (well… which will be known sooner or later anyway).

Then four of us, including myself, got a new PC to work with :D. That’s definitely good news because with 128MB of RAM (on the old PC, that is), it’s REALLY hard for me to open tons of applications at once. And large LCD panels are always tempting ;).

But the bad news is that I’m lagging very behind at work :(. The thought of it is only bound to bring nervousness and irritation. Red signals and challenges ahead!!! O_O||

In other news, I …

Personal Space Again

Seh Hui Leong

Life

It’s that day again, seeing Theen Gee moving out. It’s been a very interesting month with him, well, probably because he’s the only one whom I can really discuss my drifting thoughts (or more like I refrained myself to go all long-winded over these kind of philosophical stuff :p).

So today, with the help from Chin Han (Theen Gee’s new colleague), we start to move out the stuff to his new home. And seeing that there aren’t much stuff to move, I thought that going to be easy and quick, and how wrong I am X(. Even for like… boxes of stuff which only fills the car boot and the back seat, and throw in a small computer table and a mattress , we only manage to get everything done after …

The Threadmill of Life

Seh Hui Leong

Life

Somehow there’s a lot of thoughts in my head, seeing those never ending cycles in life… that what we are actually living is just merely running on a threadmill and going nowhere: Just running after the carrot in front of us.

At time like this, I always welcome some rethinking in life ;).

Anyway, my work progress is still sluggish X_X. I definitely need to get some work off from my shoulder at the moment, and that’s a challenge by itself ;). I will definitely need some space for my own personal skill development. One step at a time, that’s still the motto in my own life.

Just finished Gankutsuou (巌窟王), an anime re-imagination of The Count of Monte Cristo, thanks to the recommendation of my brother. Breath-taking watch indeed. 😄 The script-writer have sort …

日本語をわかりますか (Do You Understand Japanese?)

Seh Hui Leong

Life

Things are going pretty well these days. Well… Probably because I’m not feeling frustrated when nothing comes along (i.e. no progress). It’s quite a good feeling: being in the valley and rest for a while. The waves of excitement will have its time when it comes.

At least that’s what I think now :p.

For some reasons, I just felt the urge to write more Japanese while I’m still learning it. It’s sorta weird expressing myself in a completely foreign language, not to mention that I have to piece my thoughts together using whatever word I found in the dictionary, without knowing any small little details and nuisances in itself. I’m still feeling a bit nervous since I can’t find a mentor or some sort to guide …

Out From ICU

Seh Hui Leong

Life

Yup, it’s my brother all right. Just got the news from my mom that he has been transfered to the normal ward today and it is estimated that he’ll dispatched home two to three days later.

Other than that relieving news, I’m quite busy these few days as I sort things out a little. That depressing three-month old project is coming to an end soon (hopefully) and gosh that was an experience. Now I just need to settle some paperwork, do some formal testing and I can focus on something else. But one thing for sure is that I learnt quite a lot from there :).

That’s about it.

Close Lost

Seh Hui Leong

Life

Seeing the lack of updates for the past week, I definitely owe an update.

It had been a heavy week for myself, most shocking news is about my brother: he had a serious case of lung collapse, which happened all of a sudden on Tuesday. Originally it wasn’t that bad until late at night that the condition had became critical, and he had to go through a dangerous operation and was warded into ICU after that.

It was a very desparate two days (Tuesday and Wednesday) and everyone was worried sick. Facing the possible death of someone close is definitely not something anyone would have prepared for and would want to face. Especially when that person is only 22 years of age.

I can’t do much during that time, to be honest. It …

The Birthday Bash

Seh Hui Leong

Life

Today’s Sook Lan’s birthday :D. Had a great time at Red Box Karaoke again. And the cappuccino cheese cake is yum! 😄 And it’s glad to hear that her preparation with her new shop is going good :), can’t wait to go there later.

The bad news? I overspent again with some budget corner CDs that it’d be a very hard budget to plan… well, provided that I put onto myself a restriction of not touching my personal savings.

And… well, as everything would have guess, I’m in my emo mood again. Well, more internal issues that needs some resolve… well, time to work on that one! And in other news, I’m picking my Japanese back up (again). Most likely it wouldn’t last long, but we’ll see what happens next anyway.

Over The Hedge

Seh Hui Leong

Life

Just watched Over The Hedge today and I’m now still regretting the fact that I didn’t ask anyone out to share the same fun and laughter that I had with this animated feature :D.

And what else for today is that I went to the International Chinese Book Fair in KLCC today and WOA! It’s definitely a bookworms’ paradise… well, at least those who can read Chinese, that is :p. My legs are still aching after that, considering the fact that the occupied halls are just massive! Not to mention that I go through and forth from end to end.

But it had been a great day today, and the funny thing was the fact that I spent more money on music CD than books, and the only three books I bought …

Bloody Issues

Seh Hui Leong

Life

It’s been a while I haven’t been donating blood for several reasons, and this is the first time I did that for the year :). And it’s kind of fun to have a few friends coming over to join, but apparently it didn’t turn out to be as good as I would have wished. Apparently during my donation, we did get some hiccups that really shocked us in some ways.

Apparently what really made my heart sank was that… I don’t know… it’s really like, I really felt helpless and not knowing what to do especially when it comes to someone that I really cared about a lot. The most that I can do is to trust the professionals around me but still… sigh…

I really wished that I can …
